The next Kilmainham Arts Club is on this Monday December 3rd in The Patriots Inn, Kilmainham at 8pm but as it is our Xmas bash there will be a light medley of entertainment without visual art presentations. The line-up in this relaxed night includes the upcoming poet Afric McGlinchy who will be reading from her début collection, The lucky star of hidden things published by Salmon. Afric is currently doing readings around the country and is coming from Cork to be at Arts Club.
The local comedian and writer Colm O’Regan will be doing a Kilmainham Arts Club launch of his new book ‘Isn’t it Well for Ye? The book of Irish Mammies’ Shortlisted for the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards International Education Services Best Irish-published Book of the Year Award for 2012. Colm will be there to sign copies, explain about sunglasses on cats and chat about the book.
We are delighted to present comedian, actress and harpist Christiane O’Mahoney who has been gigging around Dublin and at the Edinburgh Festival for the last year, as well as working on Des Bishops latest show, will be with us for this special night to perform her unique brand of musical comedy.
”The Vocal Vixens" is a female accapella group based in RuaRed and led by Susan Tomelty, who will be performing some songs for us. We also have Gwen Moore (vocals) and Timara Galassi (piano/vocals) will perform a soulfull mix of jazz, blues.
If YOU would like to prepare a favorite short poem or (accapella) song to share in our open slot that would be great – we look forward to seeing you and offering you a mulled wine and mince pie on arrival!
